Installer / Art Handler
Location: Based in Victoria, BC
Type: Part-time contract

At Floreat Art Handling, we install, move, and care for art with precision, respect, and good humour. Our work ranges from private residences to museums, galleries, and corporate spaces across Canada. We take pride in doing things right — whether it's lifting lifting a piece, finalizing placement options with clients or driving a truck loaded with a few beautifully built crates across the province.

We’re looking for someone who shares that care and curiosity — someone who likes being around art, likes solving problems, and can stay calm and focused when things get complicated.

What You’ll Do

• Handle, pack, transport, and install artworks of all scales and materials

• Work with clients, designers, curators, and artists to plan and execute installations

• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory

• Use Basic carpentry tools to assist with crate construction and custom packing solutions

• Participate in out-of-town installs and art transports when needed

• Represent Floreat on-site with professionalism, care, and attention to detail

 

Who You Are

• Experienced in art handling, construction, fabrication, or a related field

• Comfortable with power tools, ladders, and physical work

• Detail-oriented, dependable, and good under pressure

• Able to work both independently and as part of a team

• Valid driver’s license required; experience driving larger vehicles an asset

• Background in fine art, design, or museum work is a plus but not essential
